We offer a wide range of classes that are suitable for beginner and advanced levels
Stress, tension, poor posture and incorrect alignment from long hours at work hunched over the computer or injuries can cause stiff and tight shoulders leading to discomfort and pain. Shoulder opening classes can help relieve tightness and increase the range of motion by stretching and strengthening the muscles, tendons and ligaments around the shoulder joints. This brings the body back into balance and better health.
Long hours of sitting at the desk or doing sports like running and cycling can tighten the hips. As the hips and pelvis connect the upper and lower parts of the body, hip tightness causes the spine to be overused and this may lead to lower back pain and spine misalignments. This class will work on increasing flexibility in the quadriceps and hip flexors, hamstrings, glutes, groin and the pelvis. When the hips are open, this allows for greater range of motion, better circulation and support for the muscles of the spine. It will also improve balance, posture and prevent injuries in later life. Students will also have a chance to work on various postures and learn how improved hip flexibility can help them perform these poses with greater ease.
Backbends are invigorating and energise the body acting as natural a ‘anti depressant’. Heart opening poses stretch and expand the chest inducing deeper breathing and a feeling of wellness. This class will work on preparing the body for a safer practice in backbending stressing the lengthening and use of the whole spine in particular the upper and middle back. Poses will work on building flexibility and strength in the spine, shoulders, chest, pelvis and hip flexors. Students will be taught the correct technique in approaching various basic and advanced backbending postures.
In this class the basic, foundational yoga postures are practiced to align, strengthen and promote flexibility in the body. Full-body relaxation and balance are the goals, as we make a full circuit of the body’s range of motion with standing postures, twists, backbends, forward folds, and hip openers.
YIN & YANG

This class combines both strengthening and softening elements of yoga to balance the body and cultivate a more mindful practice. It brings together the benefits of passively long held poses which work on the deep (Yin) connective tissues to improve joint mobility with more dynamic sequences and standing postures that target the (Yang) muscles, building strength, stamina and flexibility while toning the body.
Yoga Stretch is an active stretching class that targets primary muscle groups surrounding the hips, hamstrings and upper back. Living in a forward facing, seated world, these areas tend to be tight for everyone. Tight muscles can cause imbalance and pull the body out of alignment.
This begins in sun salutations and progresses with flow sequences involving forward bending, back bending, twists, standing, seated and balancing postures that build strength, flexibility and stamina in a slow moving flow coordinated and guided by the breath. The focus is on breath control, awareness and alignment. Students will develop skills in transitioning between poses in a graceful and connected way enabling them to experience freedom and fluidity in the body and mind.
Stretch & Twist
Twisting actions stimulate the blood circulation and release tension in the muscles of the abdomen. When you do a Yoga twist, it creates an intra-abdominal compression and spine, and the digestive organs will experience fresh blood flow rich in oxygen and nutrients. It’s very helpful for back bend practitioners.
Arm balances increase core and shoulder strength, improve mental focus and build confidence. Students will learn the fundamentals and techniques for various arm balance poses on how to find their centre of gravity while strengthening their fingers, wrists, arms, shoulders, and abdominal muscles. They will learn how to use their core muscles to stabilize and connect to the energy and power of their arms and shoulders. This class will also focus on building suppleness in the lower body especially the hips and hip flexors that help them get into the shapes of the poses minimizing the effort required to lift off. You will learn how to trust your arms and fingers to find good balance in the poses with confidence.
